It’s paradise! Visit various boutiques, art market, restaurants, and fishing piers

Named as the Sunset Capital of Florida, Pass-A-Grille, is located at the southernmost end of St. Pete Beach.  It’s a quaint beach town where you can leave your car and walk to the local businesses and beach.  Visit various boutiques, the outdoor art market, restaurants,  and fishing piers.  In other words, it’s paradise!

Before modern times, Native Americans hunted and fished around this area.  The first European visitors came in 1528 and used the location as a campground for fishermen.  It is thought the name, Pass-A-Grille, is derived from the French Passe aux Grilleurs.  The first homesteaders settled in 1886, and by the start of the new century, a hotel and ferry service was established.  In 1957 the town was incorporated into the city of St. Petersburg, followed by being declared a National Historic District in 1989.

Let’s take a look at this marvelous area!

Shop to you drop on Pass-A-Grille’s 8th Avenue, also known as the world’s shortest main street.  There you’ll find that historic buildings are home to the most interesting shops!  Gaze upon treasures galore from various mediums of art and jewelry, clothing and swimwear, historical photos, unique gift items, and even fresh premium cigars!
