Westshore Marina District is considered to be most desirable undeveloped lands

Seated right on the beautiful Tampa Bay is the 52-acre waterfront development called the Westshore Marina District. Long considered some of the most desirable undeveloped lands, it’s now one of the area’s most notable projects. Ideally located, Westshore Marina District is in the heart of Tampa Bay at the intersection of Gandy Boulevard and Westshore Boulevard. Downtown Tampa is located just six miles east, and it’s only ten miles to the west to reach downtown St. Petersburg.

The Westshore Marina District is situated along almost two scenic miles of Tampa waterfront, with green spaces, a marina, and an open bay. This 52-acre destination is a fresh, contemporary environment for water-inspired living, recreation, shopping, and casual and fine dining. The end developmental goal is to have an upscale town center that is the destination for all South Tampa and Tampa Bay.

Currently, there are over 800 completed apartments and condos, with the majority already occupied. In addition, three glass condo towers with luxury units running from $800,000 to more than $3 million, plus other waterfront townhomes, are also being built in this area. As a result, the district is expected to have around 1,350 residences in total.

Investing in the condo towers does have its benefits! Residents of the towers can also get a spot in the 150-slip owners-only marina. Imagine walking out your front door and right onto your boat! The boating community in Tampa is so hot right now that people are buying slips that don’t even own a boat just for the investment potential! In addition to the private marina, there is a public-use marina for visitors to dock their boats and grab a bite to eat or do some shopping.

Despite several months of construction delays due to the pandemic, the area has been transforming rapidly. Stores such as Sand Surf Co surf shop, Duckweed Urban Grocery, and Cru Cellars wine bar are open and bustling with business! Some businesses have moved their facilities from other areas into the district. Sand Surf Co. has already moved from South Howard Avenue and opened in the Westshore Marina District. This new location has brought more exposure to their bathing suits and “beach-to-the-streets” clothing lines. Eventually, the business plans to offer paddleboard and kayak rentals. Other companies coming to the area include cafes, a salon, spa, juice bar, and additional fitness areas. There are also plans for a unique indoor and outdoor dining experience where boaters can dock right up to the restaurant.

The prestigious Westshore Marina District is also convenient to the city’s finest shopping, dining, and entertainment. Within a short distance are International Plaza, Hyde Park Village, The Florida Aquarium, Amalie Arena, and Ybor City, all within a 10 to 15 minute drive.

International Plaza is a shopping mall and dining destination on the west coast of Florida. Located next to the Tampa International Airport, International Plaza is an enclosed shopping mall with Dillard’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and LifeTime Athletic stores.

Hyde Park Village is a stylish, upscale open-air village complex with restaurants & bars and a movie theater.

Visit the Florida Aquarium to experience a variety of aquatic and land animals, including sharks, sea turtles, lemurs, otters, and more, all to build awareness and inspire conservation action.

Take in a hockey game at the home of the Tampa Bay Lightning at the Amalie Arena. This sports complex is a multipurpose arena that has been used for basketball, ice hockey, arena football, and concerts!

Or explore Ybor City with its rich heritage, which is named a National Historic Landmark District.

As the finishing touches are put on the Westshore Marina District, there’s no doubt that this area will be the hottest place to be in the Tampa area! A spectacular grand opening is expected early next year.
