Experience Carrollwood old town charm

Nestled in the very heart of Tampa is the quiet, serene, and upscale community of Carrollwood. Conveniently located only 15 minutes from Tampa International Airport and 20 minutes from downtown Tampa, Carrollwood has an old town charm feel with wide-open spaces, an abundance of lush tropical landscapes, amazing parks with walking and running trails, and recreational facilities. This professionally managed community contains approximately 3,500 homes, townhouses, and condominiums divided into three divisions spread out over 11.7 square miles. Each of these three divisions is governed by its own homeowner’s association.

Carrollwood was founded in 1959, with home construction starting in the 1960s. In 1963 the first school serving Carrollwood, Carrollwood Elementary School, was constructed. After a series of tornadoes hit the area in the 1960s, Carrollwood was rebuilt. Then, during the 1970s and 1980s, the community spread westward. And in 1972, the popular landmark, the Carrollwood Country Club, was built. This beautiful area is sandwiched in between Tampa and Lutz has clearly grown. Currently, four top-rated elementary schools, two middle schools, and two high schools service the Carrollwood community.
